Electric Locomotion
July 4, 2012
This week of unconventional energy topics continues. This time with some new technology trying to harness the power of every day movement.
I came across this article on Scientific American. The idea was to find a way to harness some of the energy that gets wasted while we are simply going about our daily business .
Now don’t get too excited, even at its best, this energy isn’t going to charge your phone. Not yet anyway, but it has some really extraordinary applications for medical electronics.
These applications will continue to grow as the harvesters obtain more energy, and the electronics take less.
There is a ton of information in this article, so rather than stumbling through a further explanation, I’ll let you read for yourself.
